Frankenstein
There’s Frankenstein, and Frankenstein’s monster, but what about the women in Mary Shelley’s landmark work? Tina Taylor’s world premiere adaptation revives these women’s stories while the terror and pathos of Frankenstein and his Creature remain central to the story. Think you know the story: Think again …
ShakesBeer
The Lunatico ensemble brings the spirit of Shoebox Shakespeare upstairs to La Val’s Pizzeria, performing pared-down versions of the classics. Each FREE, raucous staged reading includes a drinking game inspired by the text. So bring a friend and enjoy an evening of un-stuffy theatre. Grab another beer or slice of pizza at any point, while enjoying a performance that captures the intimacy, immediacy, and depth of Shakespeare’s poetic text.
Past Productions
Romeo and Juliet (2025)
Two teenagers discover the kind of love that changes their world—but in a world violently polarized, the love that eternally binds them might also destroy them. Theatre Lunatico’s Shoebox Shakespeare Series presents ROMEO AND JULIET.
The Moors (2024)
On the isolated moors, expectations are upended at every turn and queer sexual tension crackles. In this bloody, punk-rock melodrama, Jen Silverman (Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties) draws inspiration from the Brontë sisters to deliver a twisted take on the Victorian gothic.
With the Reign of Terror knocking at her door, playwright Olympe de Gouges struggles to make art out of chaos by welcoming three influential women of the French Revolution into her study. A meta-theatrical screwball comedy with fast-paced modern dialogue and a dash of historical drama, Lauren Gunderson’s The Revolutionists swirls with heart, creativity, and badass sisterhood.
