Theatre Lunatico is an ensemble physical theatre company devoted to narratives that place women and other marginalized perspectives center stage, giving voice to these human experiences through the unique interpretive lens of our storytelling and commitment to gender parity casting.
Our program content includes Shakespeare, contemporary comedies and dramas, and original, devised plays. As an ensemble physical theater company, Lunatico’s work resonates with highly visceral, immediate, and kinetic interactions, with the aim of developing a deeper, inherently memorable experience with our audiences. Emphasizing intentional, specific movement, the embodied voice, and immersion in text, we rely less on elaborate sets, props, and costuming and more on the creation of worlds through the responsive, physical interactions of the players on stage. This aesthetic works beautifully in our intimate black box theater.
